Dave & Penny’s Life in Paddington
This is a pre-wedding photo shoot of two Sydney designers, lovers and dreamers. After 13 years of dating they decided that it might be about the time to get married. As a result, a few months into the wedding preparation they were in search of a wedding photographer and they stumbled upon us. After a brief chat with us the couple agreed our vision. So, instead of a formal portrait session, we decided to create a story of this moment of their life. Anton – “Penny and Dave’s pre-wedding shot is a perfect example of a bonding process between a couple and their wedding photographer. They let us be creative and tell a story of them as we see it in lifestyle, photojournalistic approach.” Firstly, it starts at Penny and Dave’s apartment in Paddington with a talk about tea, travelling and Penny’s engagement ring, designed by Dave and handmade by their friend. From this moment the story unfolds effortlessly.
Sunny baths on the balcony, waving to the strangers and cars passing by. Playful snuggles on a chair that Dave build with his father. Yellow wall and the fireplace that once made a strange noise and a dead pigeon fell off from the chimney. As a result, lesson learned, never fire an old fireplace in an old Sydney duplex. Then, we go out, explore what’s new on the street leading to Paddington Reservoir. It’s closes in 5 minutes, which is exact enough to make silly faces and lay on the grass and kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss. Finally, the sun goes down and we are at the Centennial Park. Penny’s parents use to brought her here often and here Penny made her first tiny steps as a baby. Last rays of light should be celebrated with dance. Wild and free, full of life and love, like this two about-to-be-wed love birds, who generously shared their love story with us.
