PHOTOGRAPHY

Our wedding packages start from $2,900, please keep in mind that packages can be tailored to suit your needs and with any wedding coverage you will receive a hand crafted wooden box with prints and a USB in a bottle with High Resolution Edited Images on it. We also provide a web gallery to share your photo story with family and friends.

We love to travel, and if you are planning your wedding outside Sydney or Canberra regions we may need to charge a travel fee.

For couples and Families we are also offering 1 hour sessions starting at $350.

our story

Across the Forest is a creative husband and wife duo. We’re Anton and Raya (aka Raisa) Kross, we do wedding photography and water colour stationery.

We are a small family team, it’s just the two of us. We live in the beautiful Lavender Bay in Sydney, but travel all over Australia and beyond to capture memories and tell stories in pictures.

We enjoy bush walking, pie backing and reading books on a bench in a park. 

When we met, Raya encourage Anton to follow his passion. That’s how Anton's hobby became his profession, and a decade later Anton still is a wedding photographer and he adore every thing about it! Raya is a stunning watercolour artist, also she is Anton's assistant and second shooter at weddings.

A few years ago we decided to escape from cold and dark Russian winters and end up here on the stunning Australia shore and we love it!

We are storytellers that passionate about capturing beautiful and natural photographs, without posing or interrupting moments. We photograph every part of the day as it unfolds to show the full story of the celebration in pictures that will be cherish forever.

We love everything about weddings, this is why we couldn’t stop on just wedding photography and decided to do stationery as well.

We are your one stop shop if you’re looking for wedding photography and stationery. Where I am (Anton) do candid wedding pictures of amazing people and Raya creates custom, on-of-a-kind watercolour illustrations in her adorable, unique style.

Whether you choose us to do just photography or stationery for your special day we make sure to spend some extra time to get to know you better before the day. That way, we’re able to create something that embodies the two of you and the love you share for each other.

WEDDING STATIONERY

IS ALL YOUR WEDDING STATIONERY CUSTOM MADE AND HAND DRAWN?

Yes! Raya is a watercolour illustrator and all our stationery is created with her talented hands. It’s truly unique. Also, we have a few ready to print collections that can fit a smaller budget. You can find them in our illustration portfolio.

WHERE DO YOU PRINT? CAN I CHOOSE PAPER FOR MY INVITES?

We are all about quality and we like to control printing process ourselves. Our professional printer with pigment inks produces art quality cards that will not fade and will be preserved on paper for generations to come.

We have a wide range of paper. Once you decide to go ahead with the order we will send you paper samples to choose from.

WHEN SHOULD I START THINKING ABOUT MY WEDDING STATIONERY?

As soon as possible. Set a date when you want to start sending out invitations, add 2 month and get in touch to check if there is a spot available. 

WHAT IS THE COST? WHAT INFO SHOULD I SEND YOU TO GET A CUSTOM QUOTE?

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

We are based in North Sydney. If your wedding is in Sydney, Southern Highlands or Canberra areas we won’t charge additional traveling fees.

WILL YOU TRAVEL FOR OUR WEDDING?

Yes, we’re happy to travel throughout Australia and beyond for your wedding day. We will need you to cover travel expenses if it’s an overseas location or an area in Australia that wasn’t mentioned in the previous answer.

DO YOU SHOOT WITH AN ASSISTANT/SECOND SHOOTER?

We are a family team and there will be two of us on the wedding day. Anton is our main photographer and Raya is his assistant and second shooter.

WE DON’T LIKE TO BE IN FRONT OF A CAMERA WILL THAT BE A PROBLEM?

Not at all. We are passionate about capturing beautiful and natural pictures, without posing or interrupting moments. We will make the portraits part of the shoot as easier for you as possible.

It’s a great idea to have a pre-wedding session before the wedding, to get to used to the black boxes with lenses, to get to know how we work and for us to see how you react on the camera. It will be much easier on the day to know exactly how it will work and see friendly familiar faces capturing all the beautiful moments of your beautiful day.

WHAT TIME OF THE DAY WOULD YOU RECOMMEND TO DO OUR CEREMONY AND HAVE PORTRAITS?

We would suggest to avoid the middle of the day, when the sun is directly overhead. The Golden Hour - the last 2 hour of light before sunset is the best for an outdoors photoshoot. So about 3-3,5 hours before sunset for the ceremony would work perfect for an outdoore ceremony.

DO YOU SCOUT FOR LOCATIONS BEFORE A WEDDING?

If we have never been to your wedding venue we will definitely go there a day or a few before to scout and check the light. And if you have a wedding rehearsal prior to your Big Day please let us know, we will try to be there, if possible.

HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?

Please, get in touch to check if we are available for your date and see our wedding packages. After that it would be great to meet up for coffee or chat over Skype to get to know each other. If you feel that we are the right match and you want us to be there to capture your beautiful wedding we will ask for a 20% deposit to secure the date. The final payments are due before the wedding – whether you want to deposit them in small amounts months or weeks ahead.

HOW MUCH COVERAGE DO WE NEED?

It’s not always easy to get it right when you are at the very beginning of your wedding planning how many hours you will need. If you haven’t decided yet we recommend to book your photographer first to secure the date and figure out your coverage together.

We recommend capturing the whole day from start to finish to tell the complete story of your wedding day.

However, as a suggestion: if you're planning a small gathering at one location without lots of traveling involved a 5-6 hour coverage might work great for you. It will include the Getting Ready part, the Ceremony, Location shoot(s) and Reception arrivals. If you want to include the Reception (speeches, first dance, cake cutting and etc.) we would recommend to go at least with 8 hour coverage.

HOW MANY WEDDINGS DO YOU SHOOT ON A WEEKEND?

We take only one wedding per weekend, to keep to be passionate about our craft and don’t pass out from exhaustion. So hurry to contact us to check availability, star dates get booked very quickly.

DO WE NEED TO FEED YOU AT THE WEDDING?

Yes please! It would be greatly appreciated. Please, if it possible make a note to your caterer to serve our meal same time with your guests, so we won’t miss speeches and any other important moments. One more quick note, Anton will eat everything that is available on the menu, but it would be great to have a lactose free meal for Raya.

HOW DO WE RECEIVE OUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHS?

About 3-4 weeks after your wedding day we will send you a link to your password protected web gallery that you will be able to share with your friends and family. 1-2 weeks after that you will recieve an USB along with a few fine art prints in a hand crafted wooden box.

Depending on chosen coverage, you will get roughly 400 - 900+ edited high resolution images ready for print in any size or quantity.

CAN WE ORDER AN ALBUM?
